#Cheymanigans - Paris Fashion Week

#Cheymanigans: as I was strolling down the Parisian streets in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, one of my favorite spots in the city of lights (maybe it's because I studied there for more than 5 years), a friend texted me. She said that my shenanigans inspired her a new word: "Cheymanigans". I'll share them then all regularly with you on the blog. I hope you'll enjoy following them as much as I take pleasure in relating them to you.

Paris Fashion Week is over, and it has been a hectic moment!

As a Parisian designer, I’m happy to present my work, for 2 seasons now, at the New York Fashion Week. New York is very open to novelty and eccentricity.

But one cannot deny that Paris, the city where I was born, where I work and live, is THE capital of fashion. In the fashion industry, September and early October are busy months: for four weeks, fashion shows of the most prestigious house of ready-to-wear showcase their newest collection, starting in New York and finishing in Paris, with shows in London and Milan too.

The most “institutional fashion week of them all is of course Paris. In Paris, huge pillars of the fashion industry such as Hermès and Chanel present their collections. In Paris, everyone comes. In Paris, well, you, know, Paris is Paris.

I took advantage of this wonderful and magical (to me) week to meet people I’ve been in touch with for so long but haven’t had the chance to see yet, and I visited some fellow designers’ showrooms to discover their universe, watched some independent designers' fashion show, went back to my favorite spot in Paris where I spent 5 years studying (Saint-Germain-des-Prés), and got a very sweet vintage gift I'll show you soon.
